Doctor Who: Aimless Wanderings is back! Again! For the last time!

From an alternate universe unaffected by expository dialogue and global pandemics, the Doctor is back; all of them.

Follow the Fruit Pastel, Sorry, Pompous, Dynamite and Quintessential Doctors on comedic misadventures through space and time.

Episodes will be released as and when, with a more flexible schedule in place. This means we'll be jumping between Doctors on an episode-by-episode basis to accommodate everyone's busy schedules.

We've been working in secret for the last month or so to have a good few stories stored up in preparation for when we return. For an idea of what's coming up, check the Episodes page, where you'll be able to get some idea of what is in store for each Doctor.

The first of the new adventures, I Hate Mondays, featuring Benji Clifford as the Fruit Pastel Doctor, is available to listen to here.

The series continues with a multi-Doctor story: Christmas Two. It stars Jon Gransden and Billy Treacy and shall be released 25th July 2020.

Aimless Wanderings LIVE: The Pompous Redemption - 18th March 2018

Big news for you aimless wanderers: The Pompous Redemption is out on the 24th March 2018. Can't wait that long? Well, guess what: you'll be able to hear it exclusively on the FiveWhoFans Spreaker just under a week earlier.

Tune in at 7PM (or preferably a bit earlier so you don't miss anything!) on 18th March for Aimless Wanderings LIVE: The Pompous Redemption, where you'll be able to listen to the Pompous Doctor's newest adventure starring Billy Treacy and Jenny Lippman. We'll be leaving links both here and on our Twitter and Facebook feeds so you don't miss out.

After the adventure is over, it'll be just under a week's wait before you can hear it again, both on Spreaker and iTunes, so if you just can't wait and want to avoid spoilers, make sure you tune in next Sunday!

The Pompous Redemption is written by Joel H Joelson and Billy Treacy. It stars Billy Treacy, Jenny Lippman, Christopher Johnson, Richard B Brookes, Samantha Dimitrijevic, Matthew Chambers and John Hutch.

But that's not everyone! We've got an immense amount of talent joining us on this feature-length adventure. The cast also includes Pete Walsh, Guy Lambert, Joel H Joelson, Danny Simm, Phoenix Smith, Jay Kent, Seda Tulu, Christopher Thomson, Benji Clifford, Jon Gransden and Billy Garratt-John.

The cover art was designed by Jon Gransden and Billy Treacy.

Aimless Wanderings Returns!

Well, that took a little bit longer than expected, didn't it? As some of you may have noticed, Aimless Wanderings hasn't been producing content for some time. This unexpected delay has mostly been down to other commitments, both personal and creative.

But not anymore! That's right, we're back. No, really. We received a couple of concerned comments last month asking if the series would end alongside FiveWhoFans this year, but this isn't the case. There is an end in sight for the series that we've been planning towards for some time, but even if we cut back and only told the essential stories, there's no way we'd be able to complete the journey by the end of 2018. We also want this series to be the best it can be, so we're not going to rush things.

There are a few things we need to let you know before we get back into the swing of things. Firstly, From Telford with Love, alongside the rest of the Sorry Doctor's third wave, has been held back due to circumstances outside our control. We don't want to say they've been cancelled indefinitely just yet, but for now we're going to focus on carrying on from beyond Further Apologies.

This means we're kicking off with The Pompous Redemption, a special episode you'll all be finding out a bit more about over the coming weeks. It's our most ambitious story by far, so no pressure! We can't wait to continue the wandering and hope you'll be there to join us when we do.

For now, keep an eye on the site. It's back under construction, but you should still be able to access all the stories. If there are things you've noticed that need updating or removing, please do not hesitate to let us know in the comment section.

New Aimless Wanderings Titles Revealed

We're happy to announce a whole host of new titles for Aimless Wanderings. Most of you already knew about the upcoming Sorry Doctor adventure A Sorry State of Affairs, as well as Dynamite's first wave Boom Goes the Dynamite and Fruit Pastel's Forbidden Fruit Pastel, but now there's even more to look forward to.

After Dynamite's first wave, we'll be releasing the Quintessential Doctor's first special episode The Dark at the Start, followed by a series of short multiple Doctor stories collectively titled The Greatest of Friends. The Sorry Doctor's third wave is titled Further Apologies, which shall be followed by a special rather than a wave for the Pompous Doctor called The Pompous Redemption.

War of The Doctors Covers Released

Merry Christmas, Aimless Wanderings fans! Unfortunately, we don't have any exciting Christmas specials with Fruit Pastel as Santa planned (maybe next year?), as we've been pretty busy with War of The Doctors, but hopefully these new covers should make up for it in terms of birthday presents! Expect a trailer some time around mid-January, with the first part to be released towards the end of that month.

War of The Doctors - Coming January 2015

We’re excited to announce that our upcoming multi-Doctor story beginning next January is titled: War of The Doctors. We've also released a special visual trailer, alongside a brief synopsis and our cast list.

What if one of The Doctors really lost it? What if Doctors were actually pitted against each other in the way that we sometimes have them pit against each other in our heads? We’ve seen Doctors sass one another, so what would happen if that was taken to the extreme?

The Doctors are summoned together to stop an incarnation that has gone rogue. As uneasy alliances are made and two immense forces gather against one another, the universe beings to unravel into chaos; The Doctor is at war with himself.

War of The Doctors stars Benji Clifford, Daniel Sherratt, Billy Treacy and Jon Gransden, alongside Livvy Douglas, George Broad, David McLaughlin, Christopher Johnson, Christel Dee, Richard B Brookes and Sam Dimitrijevic. It is written by Joel H Joelson and Billy Treacy, and will feature music by David Boskett and Daniel Sherratt.

Details Revealed: "The Deadly Killer" and "The Corner of the Universe"

We're really happy with the response for Mortal Pomposity so far, so we thought it only fair to share  the covers for the next two stories we're bringing out over the next couple of weeks. As you can see, The Doctor has updated his look. Most importantly, you can see the incredible Time Lord collar designed for us by the super talented Sophie Turnbull (find more of her stuff here - give her all your money!).

We also have the plot synopsis for both stories:

The Deadly Killer: There's been a murder. In the future.

The Corner of the Universe: The Cybermen have been hiding away for thousands of years. Again. Now, after all this time, they're back and stronger than ever with a new design. Again.

We can also confirm that the second adventure The Deadly Killer will be released Monday 8th September. We promise we won't let you down this time - it's already ready to go!

"Darker Paths" Cover + Final Title Unveiled

Well, here it is! The cover for The Pompous Doctor's third wave: Darker Paths.

It reveals Jon Gransden as The Dynamite Doctor post-regeneration in The Pompous Doctor's clothes with a look of distaste.

It also confirms the title for the two parter (episodes nine and ten) that the wave shall be ending on: Martin's Last Bark.

Darker Paths begin this August with the first episode: Mortal Pomposity, and stars Billy Treacy, Britty Lea and Christopher Johnson.

The Pompous Doctor Returns This August...

We can confirm that The Pompous Doctor will be returning for his third wave of adventures (Darker Paths) this month.

We've also released a poster revealing The Pompous Doctor in a new outfit, which he will spend the majority of his wave in: a red and black boating blazer with a burgundy waistcoat, a black shirt, trousers and tie.

The stories will not be without their funny edge, but there's no doubt that the general tone for this wave is a dark one. The current tagline notes: Never Stop Running.

The Doctor (Billy Treacy) and Martin the Pug will be joined by Tim the Time Lord (Christopher Johnson) and Wren Stark (Britty Lea), and the first episode is titled Mortal Pomposity.

The title for episodes 9 and 10 (a two-parter) shall be revealed alongside the cover for the entire wave.

The first episode of The Pompous Doctor's third wave Darker Paths is to be titled Mortal Pomposity. It will feature Billy Treacy, Britty Lea, Christopher Johnson, Benji Clifford and Jon Gransden.

We're very excited to announce that we're getting a TARDIS trio (depending on whether or not you count Martin) for The Pompous Doctor's third wave Darker Paths.

First of all we have Christopher Johnson joining us as Tim, an apprentice Time Lord from Gallifrey. Chris is probably best known for his appearance in the 5WF video How to Watch Doctor Who, although he does a bit of CBBC television presenting on the side.

Also joining us for Darker Paths is Britty Lea, who will be playing Wren, a new companion (and the first human one we've had for Pompous in these audios, incidentally!). Britty has been a fan of ours for quite some time, and it's great that we've finally managed to get her involved somehow!

We're very excited about Darker Paths, but first we'll be taking a quick sidestep with The Fruit Pastel Doctor in his latest special: Mayday of The Doctor.

Massive Casting Announcement: George Broad, Beckie Hough, Christel Dee and Dilbert the Dalek join the TARDIS crew!

We can’t keep these secrets anymore. We’ve got a lot of new people onboard for these audios - and have done for quite some time - and it’s about time we revealed a few of them…

George Broad

George Broad is joining The Fruit Pastel Doctor as The Bartender. He won’t be travelling with ol’ Fruity through space and time, but he will be taking care of The Rotten Pastel (The Doctor’s pub) while the mischievous Time-Lord is away…

Beckie Hough

This may not come as a massive surprise, as Beckie featured in one of the live-action competition winning stories last year (Back to the TARDIS). She’ll be reprising her role as Pip and will be travelling with The Sorry Doctor and David, making a TARDIS trio for his third wave.

Christel Dee

Christel is going to be playing everyone’s favourite two-dimensional Dynamite Doctor companion Christie Christwald (someone had to, and Billy’s not doing it again this time!). We’re still considering our approach to Dynamite’s first wave, but she’ll definitely be featuring in any upcoming big Multi-Doctor stories, we can promise you that!

Dilbert the Dalek

Fruit Pastel needed someone in the TARDIS, didn’t he? And Dilbert fits the bill quite beautifully. Still be played by Benji Clifford, this isn’t too much of a casting announcement, but since he’s featuring on our new banner, we had to reveal it somewhere, didn’t we?

That’s not all, there’s more news to follow casting-wise, but we’ll come back to that another time! You can view the new character profiles on the Doctors and Companions page.

Coming Soon: Darker Paths

After the end of The Sorry Doctor's second wave and Fruit Pastel's next mad adventure, we'll be returning to The Pompous Doctor for his third wave titled Darker Paths - which is part of our most ambitious project yet!

There is not an official release date yet. We've come round to just trying to release stories whenever they're ready, rather than waiting too long or letting people down. With that in mind, David's Grave will be out next week, and The Doctor Museum will follow very soon after.

"iDalek" Cover Unveiled

Within a couple of weeks or so, you'll be meeting the new Daleks in iDalek. Hopefully the cover art for said episode will give you all an indication as to what to expect...

Introducing... The New Daleks!

We're very proud to announce the new Daleks that will be featuring in our audio adventures. This upgrade in the casing was created by Daniel Sherratt, who you'll probably know as The Sorry Doctor. He also does the bulk of our music and dabbles in writing from time to time.

This new design is colour coded (heaven forbid!), with blue and red Daleks, alongside the black and gold Supreme Dalek. You'll find out all about them in their first audio story.

Their audio debut shall be with The Sorry Doctor in iDalek - the second story of this Doctor's second wave.

"Convolution of The Doctor" and "The Search for Ireland" Covers Unveiled

The title for The Dynamite Doctor's upcoming adventure, we are happy to announce, is Convolution of The Doctor.

The covers for both this adventure and The Sorry Doctor's second wave The Search For Ireland are now available.

Due to circumstances that some may find obvious once the cover art for it is revealed, Mayday of The Doctor has been moved back until after The Sorry Doctor's second wave.

Convolution of The Doctor, written by Joel H Joelson (A Good Pug Goes to War), is an audiobook read by Jon Gransden which follows The Dynamite Doctor and his latest companion Christie, as they travel to Cardiff to meet a new old friend. It will be split into two parts (Side A and Side B), and is set to be another epic addition to our most chaotic Doctor's adventures.

New Waves for Dynamite and Fruit Pastel

We're very excited to finally announce that both The Dynamite Doctor and The Fruit Pastel Doctor shall be embarking on their own standalone waves of adventures later this year! The Dynamite Doctor shall be the first of the two to bring his wave to the table, which is titled Boom Goes the Dynamite. Fruit Pastel will be next with Forbidden Fruit Pastel.

The Fruit Pastel Doctor is the earliest incarnation on record, and has a tendency to laugh at inappropriate occasions, offer the most unhelpful of suggestions and - of course - provide the odd fruit pastel. He was first heard briefly in Doctor3, though his first proper adventure was The Lift of Doom, the first audio of this year.

The Dynamite Doctor is at the other end of the spectrum, being our latest known incarnation so far. On the other side of the Classic/New Series divide, this Doctor is known for saving the day against one-dimensional villains, usually by manipulating people into sacrificing themselves for him. He was introduced in Doctor3, where he served as the antithesis for The Pompous Doctor.

This decision was made due to the multiple requests we've been receiving asking to see more of these Doctors, as well as the enthusiasm of both Jon Gransden and Benji Clifford, who portray these brilliantly flawed incarnations. Once we had some good ideas for where we would be taking these Doctors, it was impossible not to give them space to embark on their own adventures outside the Multi-Doctor stories and standalone specials that they already feature in.

Their debut waves shall be four episodes each. Dynamite will be enjoying a new set of audiobook style adventures, like he was given in Dynamite of The Doctor, whilst Fruit Pastel will be continuing along our more traditional trend. You can find out their exact placement within our schedule by visiting our Episodes List.

Before that, though, both Doctors still have a special each to enjoy. Fruit Pastel's story, which is out after Jim, is Mayday of The Doctor, and Dynamite shall be featuring in an upcoming adventure penned by Joel H Joelson, writer for A Good Pug Goes to War.

"Trouble At Chapel" Cover Unveiled

We know it's been a really long wait for the third part of Jim, and we're sorry it's ended up taking this long (it should be out within the next few days, promise!).

To make up for it, we've pulled together a cover for The Sorry Doctor's first adventure, and (finally) decided upon the title: Trouble at Chapel.

You can probably get an idea of where this story will take place, but for those who aren't sure, it's set in Italy. 1512 to be specific.

It's the first of four episodes in Sorry's second wave of episodes: The Search for Ireland and stars Daniel Sherratt, David McLaughlin, Benji Clifford and Billy Treacy.
